I love this auction. I have been going for years and really missed it during Covid. Now that they're back, I'm actually working there. I have bought items for resale and for my own home. In fact, in my living room and dining room, every piece of furniture in there came from golden gavel. The only thing that didn't was the TV. They always have really nice pieces. However, if you are looking for something specific, you may have to come a few times. All in all, this is my absolute favorite auction.

Golden Gavel is a good auction and also not the best either. First, they have an early bird auction that starts outside then you make your way into one room. It took 3 1/2 hours to get through that room. Its also a walk around auction. Be prepared to do a lot of standing. The electronics auction is going at the same time as the early bird. Problem, you can't be in two places at the same time! Okay, it is now 7:00 pm. Main auction is going on and I'm still working on my items I'm interested in in the early bird! Again, I can't be in two places at the same time!!! Also prices went up VERY high in the main auction. The gold and silver, auctioned off to over 3,000 dollars! Way over their price value. The antiques, were high as well! The people who attend this auction are not very nice to new comers and the older men actually bid me up on early bird items, just to be nasty! The workers, runners though are very helpful and kind. I then went to order food at 9:00 pm and the woman that dies the cooking looks at me, no may I help you, i wanted z hit dog. Her reply" I'm done cookin"! Mind you, they are open till 11-12 pm ! I found her to be completely rude. As a society, we have to be nice to each other, remember please and thank you, also to be kind to one another. These men that feel they own the auction, need to step off new people! The format of this auction is exhausting. I bought a lot that was suppose to be military pins, it was everything but! I was disgusted. Animals, some flags, bands, it should have been a mixed lot of pins. I won't be going back anytime soon. If your selling, you can get charged up to 50% , 18% buying fee. Good luck.

I've been going to Golden Gavel's auctions as often as possible for.....shoot, at least 12 years. The entire staff (Pat, Ralph, Heather, Hippy, Dalton, Travis... there are a lot of you guys!) has never once let me down. I've never been a seller, but, speaking as a frequent buyer, these folks are always happy to help their customers, from offering their expert knowledge to assisting in organization of left bids to helping load your vehicle and everything in between. Pat had actually once brought some paintings that I was very interested in but missed the left bid deadline up right at the start of the auction because he knew that I was crunched for time and couldn't stay. To this day they're some of my absolute favorite pieces. These guys are just super accommodating, personable and always provide a great experience. Plenty of seating, food, snacks and drinks available. ATM on site. And, delivery options available.

Nice people, but their business is predicated on doing shipping with literally the worst UPS store I've ever worked with; UPS in Enfield, CT. I cannot recommend buying anything from Golden Gavel if you need the item to be shipped because it'll take at least 6 weeks, the item may arrive damaged (I've already had 2 arrive broken), and you'll spend way too much on shipping than you expect. It's really unfortunate that they don't do their own shipping, or at least work with a reputable shipping company/store.

Not a great experience - the vase arrived yesterday with scratches, crazing and a chip that were not disclosed in the condition report. Their recommended shipper - a local UPS store totally exploited their association with the auction - charged me over $300 to pack a 7" vase and ship to the UK. (The shipping element costs $60) The vase was in a single small box, with no lose fill and the vase was wrapped in large sized bubblewrap and was rattling around in box. Id not use again.
